I know they say that water goes best with water, earth with earth etc but I've also read something here and there that suggests that signs that don't traditionally go well together can be too intense in a good way to be practical. Signs like Aries and Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn. Have you heard of this? Thanks

oh, and do you think it should be reflected in literature. compatibility in friendship, romance etc etc seems to be about how harmoniously people blend...but if say an aries and scorpio or a sagittar and capricorn are at each others throats and prefer it that way maybe it doesn't reduce compatibility at all.
Should it really be compounded that aries and leo are most compatible with sagittarius or that cancer and pisces are for scorpio just because of ease in the relationship if it really lacks the intensity with other signs.

edit**by at each others throats, i don't mean violence, just realised this might be just an English expression.

I used to think that too about water with the water part; but when dwelling on an individual whose has some inferior complexes about this, that,or something else; than a non sign compatibility is probably better, as one stabilizes the other and/or better....this becomes quite noticable if say one of the union has a massive stellium in their chart....at least thats what I've noticed.....

so what signs with an inferiority complex tend to be drawn to what signs do you think, and/or would there be typical complexes for each sign that draw them to a particular sign? Apart from chart issues, are there typical matches?

For the most part, the fixed signs with excitable planets (ie; moon mercury and uranus); a T & Grand cross & oppossition in any sign can produce them too. retrograde planets tend to lend a hand in personal chaos also, so I wouldn't just look at the signs for an imbalance, but the houses do have some impact. You could posted it in the astrology discussion forum too, but its okay here also.

...but is there nothing that says aries and scorpio and sagittarius and capricorn uniquely have a special relationship?
