I know dreams are important to a lot of us and talked about quite a bit, so I thought I’d make a reference page for some dream symbols and their meanings. By relating the symbols to astrology, it can help in making a connection to the meaning and how it is prevalent in our lives.

Feather- Gemini & Mercury- represents a message or new insight. The color of the feather can relate to what kind of message.

Rainbow- Jupiter & Sagittarius- Luck and prosperity, good things to come.

Food- Cancer & Moon- nourishment and comfort- can be intellectual, emotional, physical comfort.

Mountain- Capricorn & Saturn- Achievement, Decision, Goals

Sky- Pisces & Neptune- Spirituality and Awareness of true self. Daytime skies can represent consciousness, night time unconsciousness

Blood- Aries & Mars- Life force, vitality, violence

Death- Scorpio & Pluto- Something coming to an end (and consequently a new beginning) transcendence, growth

Water- Cancer & Moon- Our Subconscious, Emotions, instincts

House or our Home- Leo & the Sun- Ourselves, Our Ego, Identity

Star- Aquarius & Uranus- Innovation, a Hope or Wish, Success, Guidance

Clown- Gemini & Mercury- Foolishness and childish, ability to laugh at oneself, how others perceive you

Stage- Ascendant (also can relate to Leo & Sun)- Putting up an act, who you portray yourself as, being center of attention

Snake- Scorpio & Pluto- Fears, Sexual temptation, Something not yet surfaced (if negatively portrayed) Transformation, healing & Wisdom (if positively portrayed)

Nudity- Leo & The Sun- Vulnerability, Exposure, Shedding your weights and freedom (in this sense it can relate to sag)

Being Chased- Pisces & Neptune- Avoidance, Running from issues. If you are caught the issue cannot be avoided anymore. If you are doing the chasing it can refer to disowning some part of yourself.

Storms- Aries & Mars- Disturbances, need for strength and preparation

Flying- Sag & Jupiter- liberation, freedom from limitation (obstacles in the sky can be representative of the limits you are facing)

Falling- Saturn- Limits, anxiety, being pushed beyond our capabilities

Mirrors- Libra & Venus- A look at our true selves, objectivity

Car- Sun & Leo- you, your identity, and your direction in life

I’ll be adding more. I’d like to do more on colors, animals, body parts, and general themes. So these are to come. Once I get more I’ll categorize it by signs.

I noticed coming up with this a lot of symbols were related to fire and water signs.. Maybe that’s because dreams focus most on our impulses and subconscious urges..

If you want to add to the list, feel free, or have symbols you would like for me to explain to you or add to the list, go ahead.

COOL

Last night I dreamt my mom came in from a snowstorm outside. She said to me, "Tucker came to visit for a little while but left."

Immediately I went outside to try to find him in the snow. There were a lot of longhair cats, gray and black.
When I got to the snow blanketed park, every 10 ft was an orange tom either grooming or sprawled on his back. I had to check each one to see if it was Tucker, but every time I got close enough to examine their faces, none of them had that distinctive orange dot on the side of his nose.
Disappointed, I gave up and walked home alone under a gray sky.

its so funny that you mention that! i kept meaning to do one on snow and then kept forgetting to type it..

snow is like water so it represents emotions and intuition, but the fact that it is frozen can represent coldness or a block of emotions. in this way i think it is related to capricorn/ saturn.

cats also represent emotions and instincts, unless there is something going on with tucker in actuality that you might be concerned about.

the fact that your mom is in the dream is yet another indicator of emotional needs...

dreams with a searching theme have the indication of something missing or unfulfilled in our lives.

He's been missing since February and apparently I'm more saddened about it than I thought.
Exactly. Icy Saturn with no orange fluff to melt it away. Crying or Very sad

Interesting thread Smile
I often dream of big cats: lions & tigers & being chased by them. Also of snakes but not very often now.
Here they say that you dream of tigers & lions if you have made a promise to someone but haven't fulfilled it.
Sometimes I dream of water, storms, mud & swimming.
In my dreams my father is always alive & I tell him how happy I am to see him.
I usually dream of things that preoccupy my mind during the day, nothing fantastical Confused

i had this dream last night which was very vivid. I lived in this very community-medieval-commune-like hut without a roof near a semi-rocky beach with my own family and among many other families. All of a sudden these three large military boats were spotted in the roaring ocean coming toward our hut. So i called out to all of the villagers to take cover because the soldiers were coming. The boats landed on the beach and soldiers swarmed our hut, there were hundreds of these soldiers running around surrounding the hut and i had just managed to lock the brass door handle at the front of the hut. i looked out of the hut and could see the white roaring waves crashing and pounding the beach. i think i laughed when i saw all of the soldiers, even though it felt overwhelming i still thought it was funny Shocked Very Happy i think that i must have thought that so many soldiers swarming all of these families was comical Wink i started yelling that we needed some leather over here, over and over again. Lol Laughing oh and everyone was dressed the same sort of like in greyish-medieval-clothing, the hut was the same color. Though there was vegetation, grass around the hut. When i looked up some of the symbols it seemed to mean that a business venture will go my way esp. the leather part and the soldiers swarming a hut... the three boats signified messages... and i think it's true... because before i looked it up, i was already in communication with a friend of mine and had sent him three questions which i needed him to answer before he and i could move foreward and work together on a project.

You don't need leather; nobody needs leather Wink

It's a bit of a weird dream but don't feel bad. Mine are a bit weird too bc of the heat. Don't even have the gusto to discuss them today.

if the big cats are happy, especially a tiger, everything is all right in your world.
you do need leather if yhou're going to fly or even, I'd say ride in cars or drive them. You can survive well bad crashes that way.

More weirdness for your thread, Lick: LOL...
Last night
Dreamt of a buffet in a restaurant with gold bars on their buffet tables and beautiful, effervescent white-gold lighting glowing down from tall ceilings. The tiles on the floor were shiny, white and large.
A thin black man chef, wearing a long, white apron pushed a dessert buffet toward me and smiled.
I chose a jumbo chocolate cupcake and a small chocolate doughnut. Went to show my findings to my husband before I began to eat.

Earlier that night, I dreamt of a train on a bridge derailing and crashing into traffic below.
I remember standing there, looking up at a tall brick building with an American flag on top, blowing in the Summer wind. While standing there, the sky went from late Summer, to Fall, and to Winter. Finally it was a Winter night with streetlamps glowing underneath white snow and large, clumping flakes softly floating down.
In the corner of my eye, to my right was a commotion of lights and sirens. That's where the train fell.

^Thanks, but I don't think I'll ever see him again. It's okay bc I've let go.

What do these dreams mean:

A few nights ago dreampt there was a stream and a fat man was sitting in the grass, on a lawn chair in front of it, fishing. He caught a white sunfish, turned to look at me, and asked me for assistance in capturing it. Reluctantly I agreed and pretended to be helping him while the fish dangled from the string. As I got him unhooked, I ran like hell with the fish in the palm of my hands, the fins on his left side gone and injured.
After running awhile, we came to a new stream, a bigger one with islands of snow on top of it, but the fish needed water, so with relief, I released him into the water, safe from the fisherman and in a new stream. As I was walking away, a polar bear lunged up out of the water, trying to catch the sunfish.

Last night dreampt that I was investigating a family who disappeared in the middle of the night. It was strange bc all of their belongings were still there. I was assigned to go inspect their abandoned apartment...
There, I found a white love bird with a gaping; bloodied wound on the back of his leg, wandering around out of his cage, in filth. Immediately I found a dirty dish, cleaned it in the sink and poured him some fresh water.
Then I ran him warm water for a bath in the sink. I went to go find some mild soap or shampoo. In their bathroom I found some baby shampoo. Got back to the sink and scooped up the soft, warm and downy bird in the palm of my hands. His hair was matted in a sticky, hardened film and his wound scabbed over. In circles, I squeezed the baby shampoo on his body and began rubbing it in, then rinsing water over him with a plastic cup.

Has anyone noted that afternoon nap dreams are invariably oddish.

In mine, I was with my mother and my aunt in some park and there were huge dianasours around and one huge rhinoceros cornered me. I knew that these animals were not real, the rhino turned into a man and chased me.

well see...
Thousands of years ago, animals were the enemy. We no longer have to worry so much about animals and we've begun hunting each other.

Yes, afternoon dreams are whackier, probably bc the Sun is out with all its storms and dark spots.

i think this seems to be the case because we are more aware at this time. more conscious than in deep sleep so our mind might simulate more actively, we notice the bizarre details, and remember better.

it could also be from food at lunch Cool

Afternoon dream:

I was falling from the sky. I continued to stay up for a long time but I wanted to fall down quick.
I survived. Fell in some pool of a strange country.
My dreams are episodic. In one stretch, I have about 2-3 different stories going on.

You don't want the bad memories flashing before your eyes (black butterfly), but you want the good memories saved (colorful butterfly).

makes sense. also the black one was out of my control, it was annoying me. the colourful one was in my hands. and it was swimming...which has to do with emotions and delving into the unconscious...yet, it was under my control. the other one was up in the air, which is how i felt about things in my life at the time i suppose.

I dreamt at night that there was a dinner party at some garden resort & we were attacked by monkeys.
I read Lick's meanings for animals: Gemini, deceit...
In my dream as I was shutting the door, one monkey began pushing the door. It had such long, curly, twisted nails like about half a metre long.
Then they began to eat our food.

Here's what one of my dream dictionaries says about monkeys:

To dream of a monkey denotes that deceitful people may flatter you to advance their own interests (someone at the school?)
To see a dead monkey signifies that your worst enemies will soon be removed.
If a young woman dreams of a monkey, she should insist on an early marriage, as her lover will suspect unfaithfulness.
For a woman to dream of feeding a monkey denotes that she is in danger of betrayed by a flatterer.

A couple nights ago I dreamt I found a silver harmonica at a yard sale and tried playing it. It was a fail.

Thanks:)

Lick and Geet
last night i dreamt i was sick in bed and was literally fading away.
While I lay in the bed, everything I touched (the wall, for example), my hands went through.
and I was too weak to get up to warn people I was fading away.

That's a scary one. Some kind of identity loss? Fear

I didn't hear them, but there were all different kinds of wind chimes hanging up for sale in a booth, mostly blown glass ones...

interesting.

i looked the symbol meaning up:

To see or hear wind chimes in your dream, symbolize harmony and tranquility. Alternatively, wind chimes represent past memories. It refers to a passage of time.
