I have a question. Especially for this years, solar and venus returns.

My venus return is in later december when i will have a holiday so I can relocate it to anywhere i want but my solar i can not go anywhere which is fine. But I still would like to have a discussion on locating to get the best returns. I hope I can get some help here.

thanks

Look to which house(s) the planet rules and take the planetary return as a representation of affairs for that house. DO NOT assume a return will give a general/total prediction of all your chart affairs. That is for stupid and illogical astrologers, who have been taught in a very wrong way.

First, look to which house(s) the planet rules as to which area of your chart is affected (use whole sign house system - equal is fine for effect.) Then, check possible locations/returns and see which is best. Feel free to post them up here. Maybe make a wish as to what kind of return you're after and then make a donation in the wishing well.

If you are stupid and illogical astrologers mentioned above, take note and don't do it that way. That really gets me riled.

just because someone was taught different or failed to see the bigger picture involving astro doesnt make them stupid or illogical..

following what coffee said, think about what kind of things you might want to change, and put planets that would help that in those houses (or signs that the planet rules) for example jupiter in second might get you an influx in money or materials. In similar respect say sag or even pisces on 2nd cusp might help too and depending on where that puts jupiter, might help in a more specific way. of course if this planet is heavily afflicted it might not be so cut and dry.

usually benefic planets on angles or angular houses is a good thing.

also, Im not quite sure how different this method would be for a Venus return. I would think the whole chart would have the most influence in the area of relationships, talents, harmony, etc. so maybe finding a chart that would give the most benefits towards that (or specific things that you want out of those areas) would be helpful.

OK, maybe illogical was the wrong word.

Blindly following what you have been taught, just because the person teaching is a teacher, is not always the best idea. There will be some real professional and eminent astrologers out there who do astrology the wrong way.

If you think that is the way to do planetary returns, please continue.
Interesting to know personal thoughts, not the thoughts of who has been teaching.

All in the name of correct astrology. You don't want to be teaching newbies the wrong way.

yeah that i agree with. i think thats one of the good things about the internet, it gives people the freedom to learn on their own and develop their unique take on it. astrology is something where there isn't a definite answer. At the same time it can give confusion and muddle up what is accurate. theres much out their that hasnt been researched or studied and just got written up and thrown out for anyone to read. with astrology, and with anything else, to truly make it work for you its critical to look at it openly and critically.

also about returns, its safe to say that if something is in your chart natally, no returns can completely offset it or make the reverse happen. they can only help to guide what it is your chart natally, so its good to think about how the return not only looks on its own but how the energies might affect your own natal.

Well the since its a negotiation the ruler of the rising or the moon at the time must make a conjunction, trine, or sextile (in sign) to the ruler of the 7th house and neither can be afflicted by mars or saturn. Also, the rising degree can't be 0 degrees or 29 degrees, neither can the moon, nor the ruler of the rising or the 7th house. Keep saturn away from the 4th house and out of square or oppostion to the ic. If you can make the last aspect the moon will make a postive one to a benefic. If you can make sure the rising and the main planets aren't afflicting any major problem areas of your chart at said time.

well you might want to make sure the time you ask the ruler of the rising, is making a postive aspect to the 7th, and to make sure the ruler of the 7th is making a postive aspect the ruler of the mc (superiors) at the time you ask. Also, don't forget the other things I said, and avoid a retrograde mercury.

Also, make sure the moon and the rulers of the houses in question (1st, 7th, 10th) are not afflicted by any malefics. Also, make sure venus (natural planet of negotiation) isn't afflict by any malefics and if you can have it in good aspect to one of the lumanries and/or jupiter.

Also, your welcome and yes this is electional astrology.
